We understand that plans sometimes change. This policy explains the conditions under which bookings may be cancelled and refunds issued for villas managed by Sunset Mango Villas in Barbados. Please read carefully before making a reservation.
1) General Booking Policy
All bookings are considered confirmed once the initial deposit or full payment has been received and you have received a confirmation email from us. By making a payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation and Refund Policy.
2) Payment Schedule
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking value is required to secure your booking.
Final Balance: The remaining balance is due 60 days before your scheduled arrival date.
3) Cancellation by the Guest
Cancellations must be received in writing via email to: [email protected]
The cancellation is effective from the date we confirm receipt of your written request. Refunds will be processed as follows:
More than 60 days before arrival: Deposit is non-refundable. Any additional payments made will be refunded in full.
30–59 days before arrival: 50% of the total rental cost is forfeited.
Fewer than 30 days before arrival: 100% of the total rental cost is forfeited. No refund will be issued.
We strongly recommend all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance.
4) Cancellation by Us (The Management)
In the unlikely event that we must cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., property damage, major maintenance, or sale of the villa), we will:
Provide a full refund of all monies paid to us.
Please note: Sunset Mango Villas will not be liable for any incidental or consequential expenses you may incur (e.g., flights, car rentals).
5) Force Majeure
A “Force Majeure” event is any circumstance beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, government restrictions, or pandemics declared by the World Health Organization.
If such an event prevents travel or hosting:
We will offer a full credit for monies paid, valid for a stay at the same villa within 12–18 months of the original arrival date, subject to availability.
If a credit cannot be used, we will refund monies paid minus non-recoverable third-party costs (e.g., bank fees, admin costs). These will be disclosed transparently.
6) Travel Insurance
We strongly and unequivocally recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Coverage should include trip cancellation, interruption, delay, medical expenses, and evacuation.
7) Early Departure / No-Show
No refunds will be given for:
late arrivals,
early departures, or
no-shows, for any reason.
This also applies to shortening your stay after arrival.
8) Refund Processing
All eligible refunds will be processed within 14–30 business days of cancellation confirmation.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used.
International bank transfers may incur fees; these are the guest’s responsibility.
9) Changes to Your Booking
If you wish to change your dates, we will make every effort to accommodate, subject to availability.
Date changes are subject to the current rental rates for the new period.
If a change is deemed a cancellation of the original booking, the standard cancellation policy will apply.
